We use equipment well known in the recording industry. This includes Neumann, AKG, Beyer, Sony, Intelligent Devices, Shure, TC Electronics, Roland, Rolls, Tascam, Ensoniq, and equipment from many other excellent sources. Our audio recording path is maintained at 24 bit resolution via high quality analog-to-digital converters. This insures maximum sonic quality to enhance the recording of our specialty, acoustic music. To maintain this high resolution, we do not truncate or dither the data during recording and mixing, and we use one of the finest vintage multi-track recorders available in the world today.

The PARIS recording system that we use at Compact Recording Systems is a professional hard disk system that sounds like analog tape. It features 128 track playback capability as well as 999 takes per project. All equalization, effects, and audio processing are performed internally. Complete mixing automation is performed and executed via manual control of the faders on the Control 16. Pitch and timing correction are also available as well as MIDI record and playback capability. This allows you to have complete artistic freedom for your project.

To complement our recorder, we have an impressive array of Neumann, AKG, and Shure microphones. These were chosen for the quality of their audio output. All of our microphones are connected to Aphex tube or VLZ preamplifiers and not compressed or limited in any way. Our headphone monitoring system features high quality Beyer Dynamic equipment. Each headphone feed is individually controlled for incoming program level with respect to source and IFB levels. All of our headphones are binaural. Therefore, we can accommodate a wide variety of monitoring tastes.
